Early history
This magnificent environment had not belonged since 400ans only to two families : REBOULET, barons of the Built and the GAILLARD.
Mr. Du SOLIER, noted about 1750 in its Collection of Genealogy that « Charles of Reboulet » deceased in Paris by the hand of the executioner having been convinced to have worked to the remark of the Monnoyes.
In 1774 the widow of Mr Richou, notary to the Built buys for 19500 £ books from the family Reboulet the area of Urbilhac, the house of the master, soil, vines and woods. This will be the dowry that its girl will bring to Rabarin, GAILLARD, municipal officer of Macheville and member of the Directory of the district during the revolution.
After 1815, this last will be known under the name of GAILLARD de RABARIN and if Ovide of VALGORGE qualifies this ancient attorney in parliament to eminent jurisconsult, he devotes himself especially to enlarge his domain and to construct the current castle, on foundations or cellars of the ancient fortified house.
In 1891, the castle will be sold to a cousin, that resides at BEL AIR, Hyacinthe, GAILLARD, which has for son-in-law Camille of FRAIX de FIGON.
It is the daughter of this last one who will sell it in 1968 to Mr. and Mrs XOMPERO that reorganises it in open hostelry of 1980 in the beginning of 2000.
